DB Schenker is playing a pivotal role in India's energy transition by facilitating the delivery of wind turbine blades for a sustainable power supply. The logistics provider is transporting 240 blades from a manufacturing plant in Sheyang, China, to Kandla Port, India, on behalf of Envision Energy, a prominent renewable energy solutions provider.
DB Schenker's Global Projects & Industry Solutions team is overseeing the entire logistics process, including pickup, export clearance, loading, unloading, and ocean freight. The project involves transporting a massive volume of 274,000 cubic meters and a weight of 4,600 tons. Each blade, measuring 76.8 meters in length and weighing 19.3 tons, is a testament to the scale and complexity of the operation. The delivery of these wind turbine blades is a significant step towards India's goal of achieving a stable and sustainable power supply. With a single turbine's span exceeding the height of the Statue of Liberty, these blades represent a substantial contribution to the country's renewable energy infrastructure. Return to Articles
