DHL Partners with International Luge Federation to Support Athletes and Events

DHL, the world's leading logistics company, has announced a multi-year partnership with the International Luge Federation (FIL). Under the terms of the agreement, DHL will provide logistical support for FIL athletes and events, including the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

The partnership will begin during the 2023/2024 winter season, with DHL supporting the first Eberspächer Luge World Cup in Lake Placid, USA, in December. DHL will manage the logistics of FIL equipment, including athletes' sleds and training gear, as well as marketing and hospitality materials.

"We are excited to partner with FIL, where we both value speed, precision, and teamwork," said Patrick Dexheimer, Managing Director at DHL Global Event Logistics GmbH. "DHL brings years of experience in transporting winter sports equipment, and we look forward to supporting the athletes at various racetracks around the world."

FIL President Einars Fogelis welcomed the partnership, saying that DHL is a reliable logistics partner with a wealth of experience in winter sports and a global delivery capacity. "We are eager to share this journey ahead, bringing the thrill of this sport around the world," he said.

DHL has a long history of supporting winter sports. The company is also a partner of the German Bobsleigh, Luge, and Skeleton Federation (BSD) and the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF).

The partnership between DHL and the FIL is expected to have a positive impact on the sport of luge by ensuring that athletes have the logistical support they need to compete at their best and by raising the profile of the sport to a wider audience.
