We understand that due to the current political climate, CMA CGM has stopped shipments to Mariel, Cuba. We have a couple of shipments currently held at Kingston, Jamaica. We have learnt of a workaround from a different shipper where CMA CGM will sell the container to the agent for USD 800, and the agent then loads the container as a SOC on a feeder vessel to Mariel, Cuba. Please confirm if you can carry out the procedure, which will involve coordinating CMA CGM to purchase the container, and then load the container on the feeder vessel. The customer is willing to pay the costs of container purchase and feeder freight cost.
If you are able to do this, we please share a quote for the above, and advice if there are any further steps/costs to proceed with moving these shipments.
