Samer Majali, President and CEO of Royal Jordanian said: “This year we have been busy preparing for accession to the oneworld alliance. We are now on track to join oneworld early next year and we can now focus more on our cargo business. We are convinced that we have found the right partners by appointing Global Aviation Logistics in the United Kingdom and VIA in the Benelux region.”

RJ Cargo doubled its freighter capacity to London in the month of October by adding a weekly flight to London Stansted. Andy Burns, Director of UK-based GSA Global Aviation Logistics said, “Royal Jordanian is a key account for Global Aviation which confirms our focus on quality carriers. We are confident that we can create value throughout Royal Jordanian’s extensive cargo network.”

Royal Jordanian also recently increased its freighter frequency to the Benelux from three to four weekly flights. “We are delighted that Royal Jordanian Cargo has appointed VIA for the Benelux region,” commented Mr. Fred Veenendaal, Managing Director of VIA Holdings. “With its direct freighters to the Middle East supplemented by an extensive passenger flight schedule we see tremendous opportunities for Royal Jordanian Cargo to grow,” he added.

Geoffrey Weston, Vice President – Cargo, confirmed that the infrastructure project at Queen Alia International Airport is on schedule and that phase one, the largest investment at the facility in over twenty years, is due to be completed in early 2007.
