Leading supply chain services provider, Wincanton, has been awarded a two-year contract by Deckers Outdoor Corporation. Deckers, the parent company for footwear brands such as UGG Australia, has appointed Wincanton to manage its supply chain between Asia and the UK.
Wincanton will be providing inbound transportation of Deckers product via road, sea and air. Once in the UK, the logistics specialist will provide Deckers with shared-user warehousing and transport to generate both cost and environmental benefits, while incorporating value added services including returns management as part of the contract.
Warehousing is located at Wincanton’s Greenford site; upon leaving Greenford the merchandise will be distributed via the supply chain specialist’s shared-user transport network to its retail outlets in London. With the recent opening of the first UGG Australia store in London’s Westfield Shopping Mall followed up with a second in Covent Garden, Wincanton will initially provide Deckers with 5,000 sq ft of warehouse space at its Greenford site.
