Participants will be able to discuss issues relating to their operations in Malta with Mr Hyslop, who is responsible for legal and documentation matters and relations with the Club Directors and Members on claims, and for advising on major claims at TT Club.
“MIFA was established last year to provide a cohesive platform from which operators in the freight forwarding industry could liaise effectively with Government, the private sector, international agencies and other related organisations. As our first major event for all the stakeholders of this industry, the forum should prove an ideal opportunity for all those involved to have their say on various issues. Ian’s presence at the forum and his vast experience in specialist underwriting, claims management services, risk management and loss prevention advice, should also prove very beneficial,” said Mr Lino A. Bonello, MIFA President.
MIFA comprises the three main associations involved in the logistics industry in Malta. These are the Malta Association of Airfreight Forwarders (MAAF), the Association of Groupage Operators (AGO) and the Association of Trailers and Trucks Operators (ATTO). Each organisation appoints two members to the MIFA Committee. The current committee headed by Mr Lino A. Bonello also includes: Mr Frans Vella as vice-president, Mr Sandro Camilleri as secretary, Mr Philip J. Attard as cashier and Mr Mark Gollcher and Mr Vince Micallef as members. Mr Bonello thanked the committee and, in particular, Dr George Said, Mr Noel Ellul with special thanks to Mr. Ian Hyslop who is purposely coming to Malta from the U.K. for this event, for their assistance and support in formulating the standard trading conditions.
Both MAAF and AGO are joint members of CLECAT, the European association for forwarding, transport logistics and customs services. Stakeholders in the freight industry who would like to attend are to contact Mr. Ray Buttigieg on email@example.com or fax 21677102 by the 31st of August 2005.
