Maersk Logistics is pleased to announce that we will be operating as a more independent business unit within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group’s container activities. This will help us further drive customer satisfaction and sustainable profitability.
Henrik Ramskov, CEO of Maersk Logistics, says: “In Maersk Logistics, we have an aspiration to be the best logistics company in the market - to our customers as a supply chain and forwarding services provider and to our colleagues as an attractive place to work.
“We want to do that by delivering truly excellent supply chain and forwarding services focused around our customers’ needs.
“The higher degree of independence will enable us to design a much better organisational setup for executing our strategy. It will minimise internal bureaucracy and enable much faster and more customer-focused decision-making processes to the benefit of everybody.”
In early 2007, Maersk Logistics launched a new long-term strategy the core elements of:
§ Best client proposition: Superior value through truly understanding our clients’ business and their needs - combined with consistent, excellent service
§ Best people: Recruiting, developing, and retaining our most valuable resource - our people
§ Business unit leverage: Fully exploiting the access we have to the world’s largest sea freight client base and leveraging our procurement power
§ Cost leadership: Efficient and scalable processes in our operations to protect our profit margins
As part of the strategy implementation, Maersk Logistics will be making some changes. We will simplify our organisational structure from 14 to 12 regions, and we will set up an independent sales force to serve those of our customers who want supply chain management solutions.
The reorganisation is expected to be completed by the end April 2008.
