Freightnet.com the Internet’s largest online Freight, Logistics & Cargo Directory were the proud sponsors of the November 2006 London Freight Club luncheon held at The New Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden in central London.
Established in 1954 The London Freight Club holds bi-monthly luncheons for its 350 freight and logistics members to get together in a relaxed and ambient environment to discuss freight related topics. November saw a record attendance filling the function room to capacity. Guest speaker, Jason Leonard OBE gave an entertaining speech discussing his rugby career as an England and NEC Harlequins prop.
Phil Morrison, David Hammond and David Coleman attended the event as representatives of the Freightnet Team.
Phil has attended many freight events and said, “The London Freight Club attendance was incredible and provided Freightnet with a great platform to promote its products and receive positive feedback. The event re-enforces Freightnet’s UK branding and raises its profile as a global resource for the freight industry.”
David Coleman, Head of FreightTrak Division, took the opportunity to promote Freightnet’s vehicle tracking product, FreightTrak, presenting an online demonstration to delegates. FreightTrak allows you to track the location of your vehicle 24/7 from any PC. Mapping is available globally and the unique software provides accurate positioning within a few metres of the vehicle. The FT-4000 can be installed covertly into any vehicle and is obscured from view so that no tampering can take place; the antenna is also hidden out of sight. No one need know that any tracking is fitted to the vehicle.
David says, “Our commitment to this product has allowed us to lead the way in vehicle tracking giving customers the information that they want at an affordable price.” He also adds, “New mapping technology has enabled us to provide a global tracking service enhancing Freightrak’s position in the freight and logistics technology marketplace.”
The event came to a close with an auction. Jason Leonard donated a signed England rugby shirt and ball which raised over £1600.00. Chairman, Richard Dale and Secretary, Jimmie James organised a raffle which increased this total and all proceeds went to The Orchid Cancer Appeal and other local charities.
Phil concluded, “A great day was had by all. The London Freight Club should be on everyone’s calendar. Freightnet was proud to sponsor this event and hopes to do so again in the near future.”
