Basel/Berlin, 20 December 2010. At the beginning of the year 2011, IRS InterRail Services AG, Berlin, is to take over CIS container traffic form Intercontainer-Interfrigo SA (in liquidation). All staff will be retained; transport frequencies and service range remain unchanged.
For more than 15 years, ICF played a significant role in the container transport market from and to the CIS countries with its products “Ostwind” and “Westwind”. Since the beginning, transport services have been realised in cooperation with TransInvest Group, St. Gallen (Switzerland). For the further development of the intermodal CIS offer, TransInvest and ICF founded in the year 2000 the 50/50% joint venture InterRail Services GmbH with head office in Berlin.
At the beginning of 2011, IRS Berlin takes over the excellent positioned, successfully marketed products Ostwind and Westwind. Under the management of IRS CEO Marlies Kaulich, the container transports form Western Europe via Berlin and Malaszewicze/Brest to CIS and back will continue and will be operated with the usual quality. After a short break, transports on the so called “southern route” via Zahony/Chop (Hungary/Ukraine) will also be organised and marketed by IRS.
IRS continues to employ all specialised ICF staff members of CIS department. The well established organisational structure and the external offices in Malaszewicze and Moscow will also be retained.
Werner Albert, president of TransInvest Holding AG, St Gallen, and Joan Dubaere, ICF liquidator and Lawyer of the Belgian Lawyers Racine and Vergels in Brussels, agreed about this and have taken the necessary further steps.
„With this decision, we achieve continuity on this important route with increasing transport volume. At the same time, there will be a useful exploitation of synergies”, stated ICF liquidator Joan Dubaere.
