* Recognition for focus on employee development, supply chain solutions and path to quality
Singapore, 21 October, 2010: DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, announced that its DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific business unit had clinched the Asia Pacific 3PL Excellence Award for the second time, at the annual SCM Logistics Excellence Awards organized by SCM Logistics World Conference on 13 October.
The winning of this award in both 2008 and this year reflects DHL’s success in raising service standards, maximizing lead times for customers and advancing product innovation while keeping costs low. It also shows its strong capability in intra-logistics offerings.
“We have been empowering employees to adopt a customer-centric attitude via our First Choice global program and constantly investing in solution designs across the region. We are proud that our peers recognize these efforts and the award will spur us to continue working hard to maintain our position as provider of choice for customers,” said Paul Graham, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Supply Chain, Asia Pacific.
“Strategic solutions are increasingly critical for organizations to gain market share over others. My congratulations to DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific for showing how it adapts well to changing market conditions, even during the recent global economy meltdown,” said Richard Owens, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Global Customer Solutions, Asia Pacific. He was a panelist at a supply chain symposium by SCM Logistics World and had received the award on behalf of DHL at the awards ceremony held at Marina Bay Sands.
The SCM Logistics Excellence Awards is into its sixth year and is an important part of the SCM Logistics World conference that gathers global supply chain and logistics professionals every year for conferences, workshops and seminars.
