DHL Global Forwarding Launches New Service for Customers Who Want More

· New DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ service consolidates shipments for businesses, and delivers them to multiple recipients upon arrival in destination city either by air or sea

· Complements existing DHL Express service for highly urgent, time sensitive shipments

Singapore, 6 October 2010: DHL, the world's leading logistics company, has launched DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ for customers seeking an elegant one-stop solution for complex international distribution. Launched by its Global Forwarding division, the new service helps customers consolidate their international shipments, and clear them as a single shipment through customs. Upon arrival in the destination country by sea or air, the shipment is broken down and delivered to multiple end-customers. The solution offers businesses lower import costs, reduced storage time and the elimination of costly warehousing. Businesses also benefit from faster time-to-market and better cash flow.

DHL Global Forwarding’s DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ service complements DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS™ which is a similar consolidated service for customers who have urgent and highly time sensitive shipments. DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS™ consolidates urgent air Express shipments, and delivers overnight to major cities in Asia or in two to three days to secondary cities in Asia as well as the US and Europe. The popularity of DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS™ service has led to the expansion of the service for customers who want greater flexibility of shipping and transit time options now available through DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™.

Amadou Diallo, CEO, Africa and South Asia Pacific, DHL Global Forwarding, said: “As the global economy is still recovering from the recession and businesses remain cost-conscious, DHL is addressing the demand by companies for a wider variety of logistics solutions. Offering DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ service by sea and air opens a wider range of service options to customers across all industries, especially in consumer products and services, high tech as well as engineering and manufacturing."

“Together, DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ and DHL BREAK BULK EXPRESS™ provide customers with access to the biggest menu of direct ship options in the marketplace and make a powerful combination of solutions for companies of any size needing door-to-door delivery for bulk shipments,” said Lindsay Birley, Senior Vice President - Sales, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa. “DHL Express' BREAK BULK EXPRESS™ offers the fastest transit times for urgent shipments. With the new DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™ service, businesses with less time sensitive shipments via air and sea can also benefit”.

DHL DOOR-TO-MORE ™ presents the most cost-effective solution for less time sensitive shipments

With DHL DOOR-TO-MORE™, consolidated goods are picked up from the customer at origin and sent to an export facility to be forwarded by either air or sea. At destination (whether country, market or free trade zone) the goods are received as a single consolidated international shipment and cleared as a single customs entry before being broken down and delivered quickly to multiple end-customers - either manufacturers or retailers. The solution means lower import costs, reduced storage time and the elimination of costly warehousing. It also means faster time-to-market and better cash flow.

A single billing service, as well as end-to-end online track and trace capabilities and bar code scanning, gives customers maximum visibility over both their costs and their consignments with minimum administration.
