NYK together with Yusen Air and Sea Service today announce the launch of Yusen Logistics in Japan. This announcement marks the start of integrating all NYK Logistics and Yusen Air and Sea Service operations into Yusen Logistics globally.

This move is made in response to our customers' request for a 'one-stop service', which offers all distribution functions in one package. The European integration is due to begin 1st April 2011 and be completed as soon as possible but latest by 31st March 2012. The time required in Europe is primarily due to a need to cater for the different regulations and taxation systems in individual European countries. Further announcements will be made as and when existing European companies convert to Yusen Logistics.

Yusen Logistics brings together our global expertise in air freight forwarding, ocean freight forwarding, land transportation and customs clearance as well as logistics plan proposal and implementation. Yusen Logistics will be managed globally through five strategic areas that emphasize both the global and local aspects of each area: Japan, East Asia, South Asia & Oceania, Europe and the Americas.

Shunichi Yano, Global President of Yusen Logistics states that: "Moving ahead, the company will pursue an even higher level of service quality, better tailored to customer needs in the two key business areas of air/ocean freight forwarding and contract logistics. We also intend to generate greater customer satisfaction through a host of services according to customers' logistics needs."
