Inchcape Shipping Services has announced a number of key regional management appointments.
Chris Stone and Jaime Otero have been promoted to the positions of Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer for the Eastern and Western Hemispheres respectively.
CEO Capt. Claus Hyldager said: “Chris based in Dubai and Jaime in Valparaiso, have vast experience in both the operational and commercial management of our business and their appointments will accelerate the achievement of our strategic goals in delivering the finest service to our customers across their respective regions.”
Chris Stone’s Eastern Hemisphere comprises the regions of Africa, Middle East & India, Asia Pacific and Australasia, whilst Jaime Otero’s Western Hemisphere covers Europe and North Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean, and South America. Executive Vice President, Wakana Daiki, continues his responsibility for the Japan and Russian Far East regions.
Meanwhile, Flemming Jensen has been appointed as Regional Senior Vice President for Middle East and India bringing 17 years Middle East experience to the Group having worked for several multinational logistics companies at executive level. He is a native of Denmark.
“The main focus of his role,” said Chris Stone, who he replaces, “will be in directing regional activities towards achieving the Company’s strategic goals and objectives and personifying its mission and values. Together with a capable, results oriented management team he will ensure an efficient and consistent business growth and excellent service delivery.”
In a parallel move and with similar aims and responsibilities, General Manager of ISS Australia, Phillip Abraham, has been promoted to Regional Senior Vice President for South America based in Valparaiso taking over from Jaime Otero. A New Zealander, he brings over 17 years experience in the maritime industry, much of that time working in the Liner sector.
