DHL Express Appoints Managing Director for Hong Kong

New MD gets ready to implement business strategy to simplify customers’ experience

Singapore, 24 May 2010: DHL, the world’s leading express company, today announced the appointment of Ken Lee as the Managing Director of DHL Express Hong Kong, effective from 1 May 2010. In his new role, Mr. Lee will be responsible for overseeing DHL Express Hong Kong’s operations, as well as consolidating and steering the express business to achieve robust growth in Hong Kong.

Mr. Lee was previously the General Manager of the DHL Central Asia Hub (CAH) in Hong Kong, the largest of its kind in the Asia Pacific region for DHL. In this role, he was responsible for managing the hub’s overall operations since it was set up in 2004. Mr. Lee was also instrumental in driving CAH’s expansion project which was completed in September 2008, five years ahead of schedule.

Mr. Lee said of his appointment, “I am very excited and at the same time grateful for this opportunity. Mr. Lee brings with him solid experience in the aviation and transportation sectors. Before joining DHL, he was with the Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) and Jardine Transportation Services. His career at DHL started in 1997, and since then he has held numerous management positions within the company. He started as a Business Services Manager with the Singapore Country Office, and was subsequently promoted to General Manager before moving to Hong Kong four and a half years ago to manage the Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong, DHL’s largest hub in the Asia Pacific.

Mr. Lee obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors from the National Technological University (NTU) in Singapore in 1994. He resides with his family in Hong Kong.
