Tire failure in Istanbul

On 7th May 2010, at 01:00UTC time, flight JI7453 Shanghai (PVG) Istanbul (IST) landed normally in Istanbul Ataturk Airport. During the routine ground checks, crew has found minor damage on the fuselage due to failure of one single tire out of 18 tires on our 747-400ERF aircraft. Necessary spare parts to replace the damaged areas of the aircraft have already been shipped from our main base, Shenzhen (SZX)

During the flight and landing, crew was always in control of the aircraft and there was no safety threat in any phase of the flight or landing and the aircraft parked safely in Ataturk Airport. Jade Cargo is now in close cooperation with Turkish authorities to find the root cause of tire failure.
