YANG MING LINE RETURNS TO AUSTRALIAN TRADE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INCHCAPE SHIPPING SERVICES

Inchcape Shipping Services has been appointed agents for Yang Ming Line across Australia. This top-twenty global container line based in Taiwan is returning to the Asia Australia trades after an absence of eleven years.

ISS Australia has developed a strong Liner presence in recent times and this appointment represents a further significant step forward in the sector. ISS remains one of the leading independent agencies in the region.

Yang Ming will deploy one of five modern 4,200teu vessels within the CKA Consortium that already consists of Hanjin, STX Pan Ocean, Sinotrans and another new entrant, slot charterer, Grand China Logistics.

Royce Brain, Regional SVP for ISS Australasia said: “This appointment further complements our existing Liner portfolio as well as our traditional agency business.

“Yang Ming have chosen ISS because of our high service levels, our extensive Liner experience and our 26-branch nationwide network. This is the most geographically comprehensive branch network of any agent in the country.”

Glen Van Langenberg, based in the ISS Melbourne office, is heading up the new ISS Yang Ming team supported by a dedicated sales and customer service staff. He commented: “This is an important assignment for ISS and we aim to provide exceptional customer service with full electronic support facilities.”
