Exponential staff growth at TimoCom

With 75 new employees, the company marks up personnel growth of around 37% for 2009.

The new year starts off for TimoCom Soft- und Hardware GmbH where last year finished: With new appointments! The European market leader among the freight and vehicle exchange continues to pursue the goal of delivering the steadily growing user community the best service – in the respective native language.

The fact that the words “downsizing” or “short-time working” don’t figure in a medium-sized company’s vocabulary in a time overflowing with economic challenges really is quite remarkable. The staff development at the Düsseldorf-based TimoCom must look all the more remarkable to an outsider. Last year alone a total of 75 new, multilingual employees were hired in Düsseldorf, as well as in the subsidiaries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary – another four team members joined them straightaway in January. This represents an approximate 37% year-on-year rise in headcount in 2009. Besides new appointments, the medium-sized enterprise also trains its own up-and-coming staff for which it was awarded the “Certificate for Promotion of Young Talent” by the German Federal Employment Office last year.

TimoCom started off in the mid-90s as a modest 4-man business, but with plenty of passion, expertise and courage.The IT service provider has since become the market leader among the freight and vehicle exchanges. The established favourite TC Truck&Cargo® was expanded in October 2009 with the Europe-wide tendering platform TC eBid®.

A dynamic, motivated and, above all, international team is behind the success. “In 2009 alone TimoCom succeeded in creating secure prospects for 75 new team members and their families.” And while politicians wrack their brains on how Europe can grow together, European unity is already reality at TimoCom. Our programmes are available in 44 European countries and 24 languages. Accordingly, our company is a real melting pot of cultures. The company also looks to the future with optimism: Further growth in sales volume, customer and staff numbers are targeted for 2010.
