On 2nd December, Jade Cargo International and Chengdu Municipality have entered into a strategic agreement to establish an international air cargo hub for western China. This hub will support the aviation business as well as promote the export-oriented economic development in Chengdu. Jade Cargo selected Chengdu Airport as the western center of its network and opens new international routes to Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Duan Chengzhu – Vice Secretary of Chengdu Municipality, Mr. Zuo Chengquan – General Manager of Shichuan Airport Company, Mr. He Changqing – Vice president of Shenzhen Airlines, Mr. Fan Qing – General Manager of Shenzhen Airlines Chengdu Office attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Chen Zhongwei – Director of Chengdu Municipal Logictics and Captain Kay Kratky – CEO of Jade Cargo International were presenting at the signing ceremony. Mr. Su Xiufeng – Executive Vice president of Jade Cargo was presiding over the Ceremony
During the event, the opening of new all cargo route (Chengdu) CTU – (Vienna) VIE – (Amsterdam) AMS – (Dubai) DXB – (Chengdu) CTU has been announced with three weekly services. Jade cargo operates the routes with its modern, state of the art Boeing 747 – 400ER freighters. This aircraft is one of the largest commercial cargo aircraft in the world with a maximum payload of 122 tons.

He added that, “Jade Cargo is the first globally operating all cargo airline opening direct flights between Chengdu and European centers. We are very confident about the prospects in this area. Jade Cargo International, based in Shenzhen, Peoples’ Republic of China, is a joint-venture of Shenzhen Airlines Company Limited (51%), Lufthansa Cargo AG (25%) and DEG-Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbh (24%). It provides cargo service from China to various destinations in Asia and Europe with a fleet of six Boeing 747-400ER freighters. The expanding network now serves these routes: from China to Europe, Middle East, Turkey, Africa, South Asia, Hong Kong and ect.
