BA World Cargo completes premium offering with Constant Climate launch

BA World Cargo has announced the launch of Constant Climate, a temperature controlled product designed specifically for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The launch marks the third premium product to be delivered through the new £15m Premia building at London Heathrow.

Press Release

Constant Climate has been designed for the transportation of highly temperature-sensitive drugs and vaccines and for high value food products. As the name suggests, freight delivered using Constant Climate will be kept at a constant temperature throughout the journey, through the use of Envirotainer containers - ULDs that are able to keep freight inside at the same temperature for up to 72 hours.

Constant Climate will launch in three phases. From September the product will be available to and from the select destinations in UK, US, Canada and Europe where customer demand for the product is strongest. The second wave in late October will see Constant Climate cover Asia, Middle East, Australia, South Africa, South America and other European locations. The final development will include all other potential locations for the product - development of solutions to facilitate a launch at these locations will start in October and continue throughout the remainder of the financial year.

A dedicated Constant Climate team has been put in place to ensure that BA World Cargo delivers world class customer service for its premium customers. The team will be overseen by Charles Tugendhat, head of the global products team, BA World Cargo.

Gareth Kirkwood, managing director, BA World Cargo, comments: \"The movement of temperature controlled goods is the fastest growing sector in the air cargo market and the launch of Constant Climate demonstrates BA World Cargo\'s commitment to supplying our customers with specialist products that make a significant difference to their business. This launch marks the final stage of the opening of Premia and we have every confidence that the whole suite of products - Prioritise, Constant Climate and our airmail product - will be well received by customers.\"
