Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to a wide range of industries worldwide, today announced that it has signed a further two year contract with the Government of Mozambique to be the sole provider of its Pre-Shipment Inspection Programme (PSI) for exports to the country.
The PSI programme ensures that the correct import duties are paid as per the Governments requirements, assists with the identification of illicit cargoes and helps protect Mozambique’s citizens from sub standard imported goods.
In addition to the PSI programme, Intertek also provides customs support, valuation of cargo and consultancy services to Mozambique’s Custom Authority. It has played a major role in the creation and building up of a Training Institute for the Mozambican Revenue Authority and has run many specialist training courses.
David Gregory, Vice President of Intertek’s Government Services said: "We are delighted to continue to work with the Government of Mozambique. Having worked on this programme for the past 13 years, Intertek offers parties trading with Mozambique a fast, efficient and flexible service from locations across our global network, providing the importer certificates that they need and which are approved and trusted by Mozambique’s Customs Authority."
Intertek helps exporters around the world ensure their goods meet Mozambique’s requirements prior to shipment and issues the necessary importer certificate from its global locations.
