As part of their ongoing strategy for Asia and particularly China, Freightnet is embarking on a marketing mission encompassing a series of sponsored network luncheons, dinners and exhibitions.

Taking in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Shanghai, Beijing and Kunming, Freightnet is running a range of sponsored network luncheons for freight and logistics companies in order to have the opportunity to discuss the Freightnet concept and programme of tools for global trade on a one-to-one basis and in an informal atmosphere.

Says Freightnet's CEO, Phil Morrison, "Asia represents over 50% of all activity on our website and China is a large part of that, of course. With the economic downturn companies are using the facilities and services that we provide in order to promote themselves and make sure they retain their market share."

To co-incide with the mission that takes place in the second half of June 2009, Freightnet is launching their professional networking site, Freight Connect, which allows individuals to connect, collaborate and make new contacts with like-minded logistic professionals throughout the world.

Whilst on this trip Phil Morrison is meeting with authorities and partners as they seek to establish their own presence in Hong Kong and/or mainland China.
