2009 conference in Los Angeles was a good success
Security Cargo Network members have elected to go to Vienna, Austria for the 2010 international conference, which will be held April 14--16 at a venue yet to be determined. Vienna won the polling over Lisbon, Portugal; Antwerp, Belgium; and London, UK. Security Cargo Network alternates its conference sites each year among Europe, Asia and the Americas. The 2011 meeting will likely be held in Southeast Asia.
According to SCN President Dave Lucia, the 2009 conference that was held in Long Beach in March was a good success, especially considering the reluctance of many to travel in the present economic environment. Approximately 140 delegates from member companies were in attendance, a figure that was off by 20 percent from the previous year's conference in Dubai.
SCN is presently comprised of 185 member companies operating 366 enrolled offices in 91 countries. The international alliance of freight forwarders is actively seeking members in Israel, Western Canada (especially Vancouver), and Central and South America, with the exception of Brazil.
