Full-service freight forwarder Woodland International Transport Co Ltd has been appointed UK and Ireland agent by Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation, one of the world’s leading supply chain operators.
Woodland, headquartered in Coggeshall, Essex, is now responsible for marketing the full portfolio of services provided by the Japanese logistics giant.
According to Woodland chairman Kevin Stevens, the signing of the deal was the perfect start to the year and is an acknowledgment of the high level of service Woodland provides its clients.
Mr Stevens says: “This deal is good news for the new year. We see Japan as one of our key growth markets for the future and we look forward to many years of fruitful co-operation with Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation.”
Yonosuke Yawata, general manager of Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation, said: “We are very pleased with the commencement of the new agreement with Woodland, which will provide tremendous opportunities to expand business in the UK and Ireland. Our strong international network will enable Woodland to provide various logistics solutions to their customers.”
Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation is one of Mitsubishi’s core companies and operates a combined international multimodal transportation business, warehousing, and other related businesses with a network of 15 affiliated overseas companies and liaison representative offices in North America, Asia and Europe.
Woodland has offices at London Heathrow, in Colchester, Manchester, Hull, Newcastle, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the United States. The privately-held company, which offers a wide range of transport and logistics services, including forwarding by all modes, as well as specialist and value-added services, has been trading for over 20 years.
