Inchcape Shipping Services has entered into a strategic alliance with PT. Equator Marindo in Indonesia. The alliance, branded ISS Marindo, covers all aspects of port agency and caters to a wide customer base of dry bulk, tanker, cruise and naval vessels as well as serving the offshore industry.
ISS Regional Managing Director Jan Lauridsen – Asia Pacific, explained the move: “A strategic alliance with like-minded partners can only provide a win-win situation for the partners and their customers alike.
“ISS systems, procedures and processes are being implemented to ensure a high level of service deliverables whilst PT Equator Marindo adds the in-depth knowledge of local port agency operations for all kinds of vessel as well as meeting our customers’ specific logistical requirements such as arranging barges, cranes and grabs.”
“This is an important move for ISS,” Lauridsen continued: “With this cooperation the team will be active in developing new business as well as handling existing valuable ISS clients, keeping in mind the customers’ requirements for prompt response, a high level of data integrity and professional boarding and agency related services.”
The new alliance is based in Jakarta whilst the setting up of other branch offices in key Indonesian ports, is already in the planning stage.
