PPG markets capabilities to renewable energy sector

Heavy and oversize cargo network, Project Professionals Group, is continuing to position itself as the supply chain manager of choice for the renewable energy industry.

PPG General Manager Kevin Stephens said PPG would promote its members’ successes in transporting renewable energy equipment at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) Exhibition in Chicago from May 4 - 7, 2009.

“This is the largest event of its type in the world and offers PPG the opportunity to demonstrate our heavy-lift, over dimensional capabilities that deliver cost-effective solutions for the renewable energy sector,” Mr Stephens said.

“PPG members have already had considerable success in the transportation of wind blades and associated equipment, and one of our key objectives is to ensure PPG is the first point of contact for this rapidly growing part of the project cargo business.”

Mr Stephens said PPG and its United States member, TransGroup, had secured a 20' x 20' booth with excellent placement in the AWEA exhibition area.

He said PPG would have a major presence at the booth supported by members SOS Global Express, TransGroup Worldwide Logistics (USA), Quality Freight, Ireland & Quality Freight (UK), Lisboa Despachos (Brazil), Polytra NV (Belgium), Sahil Freight Express, Express Transport (India), and Alship Navegacao (Portugal).

PPG is an Affiliate Member of SmartWay, the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

SmartWay and Vestas – the world’s leading supplier of wind power solutions - are among the guest presenters at the annual PPG conference in Corpus Christi, Texas, hosted by the Port of Corpus Christi from July 29 – August 1, 2009.
