"From our choice of excellent internal and external candidates, we are delighted to be able to welcome Sturla Henriksen back to the NSA", says the Association's President Elisabeth Grieg. "He stood out for his extensive expertise and international experience, combined with sound knowledge of the sector and documented leadership qualities."
"Iím looking forward to getting started", says Sturla Henriksen. "The shipowners and the maritime sector are among Norway's largest and most vital industries, and there is great potential for further growth and development. In terms of competence building and the environment and on the employers' side, all the conditions are conducive for Norway to take a leading role. This must happen in partnership with all stakeholders, both nationally and internationally."
Sturla Henriksen was born in 1956, and graduated in economics from the University of Oslo in 1984. He also attended the Norwegian National Defence College and completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in 1998. Henriksen comes to the NSA from a management position at Accenture Management Consulting. He previously worked at the Norwegian Ministry of Finance and Statistics Norway, followed by a three-year spell in Brussels for EFTA and the European Commission. From 1992 to 1998 he was Head of Finance and a Director of the NSA, before leaving to set up his own company.
