Founded in 1924 in Frankfurt, Germany and today headquartered in Pfaeffikon, Switzerland, the deugro group of companies begins its 84th year as one of the leading project freight forwarding companies in the world, having recently completed complicated turnkey logistics contracts in twenty-one countries on five different continents.
While the group maintains a strong supporting network of international agency agreements, its core network of owned offices largely mirrors the major manufacturing bases meshed with the traditional destination project locations related to the oil & gas, petrochemical, mining and power generation markets. This network allows for an excellent operational interface as relates to both the off-shore and on-shore scopes of work, which very often must work in close synergy to ensure a smooth and seamless transition from export to import to delivery to the job site.
In 2003, deugro also created a specialized renewable energy group, which today focuses exclusively on the transportation and project logistics related to large scale wind farms being constructed throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.
At the conclusion of 2007, deugro celebrated 83 years of success and yet another record year. It was a year of continued expansion, which opened several new offices including in Tokyo, Japan and Sao Paolo, Brazil. With ever expanding globalization setting a fast pace in the industry, it has been deugro’s goal to recognize the needs of their clients and provide offices where & when needed.
President and CEO, Mr. Thomas C. Press, commented in 2007 by saying, “The group remains strong and we have substantial resources to operate effectively and expand further. Looking at the past ten years, we have easily doubled our clients and in turn created numerous new offices. Today we are one of the largest privately held companies in our niche, which is a result of our intelligent and committed employees, and that is something we are all proud of”.
In 2008, the deugro group will continue to focus their efforts towards expansion, with the implementation of several new IT programs, growing their business development hubs, increasing & improving marketing efforts and ultimate maintaining a core focus on the customer service provided to its clients.
2008 again looks to be a record year for and the group is focused on a myriad of upcoming industrial projects located throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and North, Central and South America.
