It is time to Fly the Good Times at AIR CARGO INDIA 2008 as, Kingfisher Airlines Cargo have confirmed their participation as one of the GOLD SPONSORS for the mega biennial event, scheduled to take place in Mumbai at the WTC from the 23rd to the 25th of January 2008. Aviation giant BOEING is the other GOLD SPONSOR for the event. The AIR CARGO INDIA 2008 has attracted Air Cargo Industry leaders from all parts of the globe to showcase their expertise in the field. Kingfisher Airlines has also decided to be a part of this international event to showcase their expertise in the field in front of the international audience at the event. The airline is owned by the United Beverages Group (UB Group) under the leadership of Dr.Vijay Mallya. The UB Group is a multinational company that branches in industries as diverse as Alcoholic Beverages, Aviation, Pharmaceuticals, Agrochemicals, Fertilizers, Infrastructure Development and now Media and International Trading. The Group has grown into a multinational business conglomerate of over 50 companies with a projected annual turnover of US$ 2 billion for 2005-06.
As Kingfisher Airlines is a subsidary of this multinational giant (UB Group) the airline has not failed to follow their parent company’s footsteps to provide the best service and rapidly evolve as the industry leaders. Kingfisher Airlines started operations on 9 May 2005, with 4 Airbus A320 aircraft. Since then the airline is well known for its flair for delivering high class services to its customers with its brand new state-of-the-art aircraft fleet. To turn its massive fleet into a mammoth sized fleet the airline had signed a firm contract with Airbus for the A350 and A380 – the company’s newest and largest aircraft, respectively – as well as for the A330. The order is for five A350-800s plus five A380s for intercontinental services, and five A330-200s for regional routes. The total deal has been valued over $3 billion. Kingfisher airline has also become the first (and only) Indian airline to order the Airbus A 380. The airline also created aviation history by flying in the Airbus A380, the world's biggest and most advanced aircraft to commemorate its second anniversary. The airline currently owns a fleet of 158 state of the art aircrafts, of which 31 are currently operational and 126 aircrafts are still to be delivered.
Kingfisher Airlines is well known for its high class service in the passenger segment and is now entering the field of Air Cargo, to excel and reap the benefits that this industry offers. The Indian Air Cargo industry offers a lot potential, which Kingfisher Cargo has recognized and has decided to explore the market using AIR CARGO INDIA 2008 as a launch pad for their cargo division.
