Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK has entered into an agreement with the Danish Logistics company, FREJA Transport & Logistics A/S, creating a partnership for groupage, full-load and part-load distribution to and from the United Kingdom and Denmark. The partnership commenced in June of this year and is set to further increase Hellmann’s presence in the Scandinavian logistics market.
Matthew Marriott, Director for ERF at Hellmann in the UK commented:
“Scandinavia has always been a key market for Hellmann in the UK. The development of our Norwegian service, and now the Danish Market gives us a platform to break into Sweden and Finland on a direct basis, allowing our customers to benefit through the technology driven distribution systems that we provide.”
This latest partnership between Hellmann UK and FREJA has created a permanent link to and from Denmark. In a similar agreement to Norway, a twice weekly groupage service and a daily service of full-load/part-load will run throughout all areas of the Scandinavian country and the United Kingdom.
FREJA has five offices in Denmark and provides an excellent network throughout the country. Hellmann will utilise all of these as part of the agreement. Similarly, FREJA will also have the use of Hellmann’s Central hub in Lichfield and benefit from local distribution at Basildon and Bradford in the UK for its own groupage expansion – offering daily distribution with the possibility of track and trace.
Martin Meyer, managing director at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK concluded:
“In order to focus on the development of the groupage market we have chosen to expand our network of distribution to Denmark. We are in the very early stages of the partnership, yet strongly believe that by joining the companies’ resources together, our Denmark and UK connection can continue to grow at pace.”
