The China International Logistics Technology & Services Expo 2007 (also known as “Logistics World 2007 – Suzhou China”), is authorized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R. China and organized by The Economic and Trade Commission of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Jiangsu Provincial Government and Suzhou Municipal Government, will be held during May 23 – 25, 2007 at Suzhou International Expo Center, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, PR China.
With Jiangsu Province’s continuous improving business environment, modern logistics industry has become a new development focal of Jiangsu Province from year 2000. According to the China Custom’s figure, Jiangsu’s total I/E value in year 2006 is the second highest in China, amounting to US$284 billion, which is 24.6% higher than the same period of previous year. Suzhou is chosen as the manufacturing base by a good number of Fortune 500 companies. She has firmly developed her leading position in the manufacturing of electronics and I.C.T. products, precision machines, light industry, food and pharmaceuticals. The presence of well-developed international logistics environment, abundant industrial resources, together with international operation system led by the local government have provided a favorable platform for the staging of Logistics World 2007 – Suzhou China.
The Expo is driven by a “Three-in-One” model, i.e. Government’s leadership, trade associations’ participation and operated by commercial enterprises. This model not only maximizes the size and operation efficiency but also elevates the level of the Expo as an effective platform for logistics industry knowledge exchange and business cooperation by merging the exchange of innovative technology, display and trading of logistics equipments, project investment and cooperation, supply chain management and procurement services. At present, the Expo is undergoing its crucial stage of preparation work. 300 exhibitors and prospective exhibitors come from three main sectors, namely logistics technology, logistics equipments and logistics services. The highlight of the Expo is to demonstrate the advanced and up-to-date logistics technology and products. Both overseas and domestic logistics equipment manufacturers and services providers, Jiangsu-based logistics parks, ports, highways, railways and airports or related departments, logistics technology research centers, related government regulatory and marketing departments together with those large-scale wholesale centers, logistics centers, department stores and bonded logistics parks, etc. are undoubtedly the target exhibitors of the expo as highlighted by Madam Gu Yu Fang, Vice-Chairman of The Economic & Trade Commission of Jiangsu Province, PR China at the press conference held in January 2007.

In addition, both domestic and overseas trade associations from the United States and Singapore will organize concurrent activities, such as “Singapore Logistics Day”, briefings on specific logistics technology and services, seminars on logistics projects investment, buyout and leasing matching services, “Logistics World” trade mission, etc. Moreover, visit to Suzhou Bonded Logistic Parks will be arranged. It is estimated that more than 2,000 business representatives will attend these events and such interaction will bring along infinite business opportunities, which in fact is able to achieve the goal of providing all-round services in this Expo.
