Ahlers was entrusted by TECHNIP early this year with all logistics, crewing, security, safety and administrative matters for the transit of the FPSO "AKPO" from Korea to Nigeria. Said FPSO (Floating Production and Storage Off-shore platform) with a length of 305m and a beam of 60m has a storage capacity of 400.000mt, and a production capacity of about 40.000mt/day (250.000bbls/day).
"AKPO" left Ulsan on the 27th of June and arrived on 14th July off Singapore at the meeting point about 75 nautical miles from the island.
Following operations are scheduled this week:
90 people are to be boarded and 80 to be disembarked, all from various starting points and to different destinations.
Complete travel planning to and from Singapore including fly ticket, visa, vaccination, meeting & transfer and hotel arrangements was organized by our Antwerp staff with the support of our local agents. For the last leg 2 Sikorsky 76 helicopters will rotate continuously between Seletar Airport and "AKPO".
In case of adverse weather conditions a ‘B’ plan with crew boats is furthermore in place.
About 300mt of equipment and material dispatched from all part of the world were collected at our Singapore storage area and were reconditioned as per off-shore standards.
2 Chartered supply vessels will ply between King Heng Marine Base and "AKPO" to deliver the goods on board and to land about 70mt of garbage.
To avoid any act of piracy (economical or political) and prior operations started off Singapore our team arranged the boarding of equipment and technicians to secure the site.
All flag state connected documents (Panama) as well as all Singapore specific regulations (air & marine) were checked and special authorizations were issued.
