Global logistics solutions provider, Project Professionals Group, gathers in Aarhus, Denmark, in August, to discuss key issues impacting on the project cargo industry.
PPG‘s General-Manager Kevin Stephens said today from the group’s Brisbane headquarters that over 50 members from around the world had already confirmed attendance at the conference held in association with DSV Air & Sea A/S Project Division, one of Europe’s leading project forwarding and logistics companies, major multi-purpose shipper Rickmers-Linie GmbH, and specialist heavy-lift project cargo carriers Beluga Chartering GmbH, and Volga-Dnepr (UK) Limited.
Professional Logistics Group, Inc. (PLG) will also present a keynote address on the challenges facing the industry and how to improve performance and improve profitability.
“PPG membership includes the opportunity to network during the annual conference with likeminded businesses who can deliver solutions on behalf of clients, particularly oversize, heavy lift, project cargo,” Mr Stephens said.
United States based Chair of the PPG Advisory Committee, Susan St. Germain, Director of Projects, Transgroup Worldwide Logistics, said the committee was developing a comprehensive conference agenda covering key global issues such as rising costs, limited capacity, and overcoming bottlenecks at key transport hubs.
“Political and economic decisions around the world reverberate through the global logistics market, but as a group we are well placed to overcome these challenges,” Ms St. Germain said.
“The committee sees the conference as an opportunity to promote competitive advantages such as leveraging collective buying power and the unique relationships with key partners in the shipping and heavy payload air charter sectors.”
“The industry faces significant challenges that include ships and bunker at record high prices.”
The PPG conference will be held from August 27-31, 2008 at the Helnan Marselis Hotel.
