Portroe Stevedores Limited has selected Tideworks’ container terminal software suite for greater productivity, container visibility, and inventory management at its Dublin, Ireland terminal.
Tideworks Technology®, Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced that Portroe Stevedores Limited has selected Tideworks’ container terminal software suite for greater productivity, container visibility, and inventory management at its Dublin, Ireland terminal. The project further expands Tideworks’ presence in northern Europe, and Tideworks aims to help this burgeoning terminal operator grow its operation with the use of Tideworks’ advanced technology solutions.
Portroe will implement Tideworks’ complete, integrated suite of software solutions which includes Mainsail Terminal Management System® (including Mainsail™ Online), Spinnaker Planning Management System®, Traffic Control™, Forecast™, and GateVision™. The suite is designed to lower overall operating costs and increase productivity at the terminal by enhancing container visibility and improving inventory control and asset management.

Portroe is undergoing a series of changes as it grows from its current volume of 200,000 TEUs per year to a projected 350,000 TEUs by 2008. Tideworks will work closely with other technology and equipment vendors such as Liebherr to ensure complete systems integration. Liebherr is providing Portroe with Rubber Tire Gantry (RTG) cranes for denser stacking capabilities. The cranes will be outfitted with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, which will enable automated container positioning.
Project implementation will be executed through a combination of resources located at Tideworks’ European headquarters in Spijkenisse (Rotterdam), Netherlands and its corporate headquarters in Seattle. Portroe will also benefit from Tideworks’ “around the clock” (24 hours a day, seven days a week) customer care and application support via the Tideworks Service Center.
