Royal Jordanian, the oneworld member, transported two tons of milk formula for children afflicted by phenylketonuria, donated by charity organizations in Baden, Germany, to Al Noor children hospital for chest diseases in Mafraq governorate. The activity was done in cooperation with Majlis El Hassan.
RJ President/CEO Samer Majali stressed that the company's initiative to transport this basic nutritional item from Maastricht to Amman for free is in line with the airline's charitable efforts aiming at helping the local community, in this particular case the children treated at this Mafraq hospital.
He added that RJ is eager to hold social activities it believes in and endeavors to translate its mission of supporting local communities and charities.
Majlis El Hassan's general director Khaled Irsheid Marshood expressed his thanks and appreciation to RJ for carrying this big shipment on board its aircraft. He also praised the social role played by the company, our national carrier, in serving the local community and interacting with the needy and individuals with special needs.
RJ also volunteered to carry some articles offered by Italian companies from Rome to Amman to support the Mabarrat Umm Al Hussein Society Bazaar held in Amman last month. The Italian companies donated these articles to the orphans to enjoy the care and educational opportunities thus offered them.
