French logistics provider GEFCO is introducing a network of design and logistics engineering offices (tender centres) it says in response to its industrial customers' growing demands for supply chain integration.
The main role of the GEFCO Group's logistics engineering department is to optimise national and international logistics flows and set up operational solutions. It supports its customers from preliminary consultancy right through to implementation, incorporating all GEFCO business lines, and focusing on innovation, customisation and sustainable development.
GEFCO's logistics engineering department has developed a network of centrally-managed local design offices, to help develop more understanding about local issues while meeting its customers' global supply chain requirements.
14 offices have already been set up, in Germany, Austria, Brazil, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, the Czech Republic and the UK.
For Gilles Fontaine, Sales Manager, responsible for logistics engineering of key accounts, "this network of design and engineering offices enables us to effectively combine technical and sales criteria to better respond to our customers' requirements on quality, cost, delivery times and service. In particular, the network allows us to play our role as supply chain service provider and specialist, whose purpose is to create added value and not simply perform logistics operations."
