WWPC taps into Vietnam gateway

Project cargo specialists the Worldwide Project Consortium has recognised Vietnam’s membership of the World Trade Organisation with the appointment of a new franchise member based in the southeast Asian nation.

WWPC General Manager, Kevin Stephens, speaking from the company’s headquarters in Queensland, Australia, said today Vantage Logistics Corp, with offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, was well placed to support clients seeking to maximise opportunities arising from increased trade and investment in the country.
Mr Stephens said Vietnam was an excellent logistics gateway to a free trade region of more than 500 million people, and a bridge to a massive market of 1.3 billion Chinese consumers.
“Increasing foreign investment along with the fact that 2007 is the first year Vietnam enjoys World Trade Organisation membership, will stimulate many opportunities to service the logistics needs of the region,” Mr Stephens said.
“The WWPC, with the assistance of Vantage Logistics, offers clients an effective and efficient pathway to service one of the region’s fastest growing and resilient economies.”
Mr Stephens said Vantage Logistics, led by General Manger Florence Lam, had demonstrated experience successfully merging international market access with local transport infrastructure.
Vantage Logistics will have two representatives attending the WWPC annual Partnering for the Future conference in Cape Town, South Africa, from March 29-30, 2007, that has attracted nearly 50 companies from around the world.
Major conference sponsors included Rickmers-Linie GmbH, Germany; Volga-Dnepr (UK) Limited; Air Partner plc, U.K.; Macs Maritime, South Africa; Beluga Chartering GmbH, Germany; and Sun Communications PR and Media, Australia.
