Cooperation between DB Logistics and Kuehne + Nagel extended - Management of joint activities. Intensification of cooperation

Kuehne + Nagel and DB Logistics are planning to work more closely together in future. An agreement to this effect has been reached at a meeting between representatives of the two companies. The aim of their collaboration is to strengthen the position of rail freight transport, especially with reference to single freight car transport in . The main emphasis of their joint activities will be on transport between Germany and Scandinavia.

“We are delighted that Kühne + Nagel, one of the world’s biggest providers of transport and logistics services, has chosen to rely increasingly on rail, and on single freight car transport in particular,” says Dr. Norbert Bensel, Chairman of DB Logistics. “This shows that our strategic approach is the right one, and that rail is increasingly becoming a genuine alternative to transport by road.”

Ewald Kaiser, Chief Operating Officer for Rail & Road Logistics at Kuehne + Nagel International AG, commented: “This agreement marks a strengthening and a further extension of a partnership that has always been good in the past. The aim is to transfer more goods from the road to rail, wherever doing so makes sense.”
