RJ operates a nonstop service to Montreal starting May this year

Royal Jordanian announced that it will resume operating a regular, non-stop flight between Amman and Montreal, Canada, starting May 25, 2007, having halted its operations to Montreal for ten years due to commercial reasons.

Vice President/Marketing, Sales and Services Hussein Dabbas said that resuming service to Montreal is also due to commercial reasons. Studies and market researches the company conducted showed that there is a commercial feasibility in reconnecting Canada and Jordan, in the service of the Arab communities and Jordanian and Arab students living there, and because of the active commercial activities and of businessmen traveling between the two countries.

He added that RJ will be using Airbus A340 to operate two weekly non-stop flights, on Mondays and Thursdays. The plane will depart at 2 a.m. local time, and arrive in Montreal at 7 a.m. local time. The flight from Montreal departs at 12 noon, local time, and arrives in Amman at 5:45 a.m. local time.

Dabbas mentioned that RJ will also open a new direct route to the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The new station will bring the airline’s destinations to 54, spread over four continents.
