Swedish Group Forms Spanish Alliance
The Swedish-based logistics specialist GreenCarrier has made an alliance with the Spanish freight forwarding company TIBA Internacional SA and with effect from 1 January 2007, they will be co-operating in developing new services linking Iberia with Scandinavia.
GreenCarrier is already well established in the Spanish market, its subsidiary in Bilbao having developed a close relationship with the wine trade for several years between Scandinavia and Spain. Part of the subsidiary's staff will join the TIBA office in Bilbao.
By forming a relationship with TIBA, GreenCarrier expects to increase its penetration of the Spanish market, TIBA being a much larger organisation with offices in Valencia, Madrid, Alicante, Barcelona, Algeciras, Vigo, Bilbao, Gran Canaria and Teneriffe. In return, TIBA will attain a presence in Sweden and Norway through GreenCarrier offices in Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Karlstad, Linköping, Stockholm, Skellefteå, Luleå and Oslo as well as fast-growing links with the Baltic States, Russia and other former Eastern European countries.
While both GreenCarrier and TIBA will be looking to grow market share in the beverage logistics sector, they also provide a complete range of air, sea and road-based logistics services for all types of cargo.
GreenCarrier is part of the Swedish Bjork.Eklund Group while TIBA is a member of the Spanish Romeu Group.
