New Calgary service launched

From 1 December 2006, BA World Cargo will operate a new, five-weekly mainline service to Calgary, Canada. Ensuring the highest level of customer service, the carrier has also announced the launch of a new station at Calgary, which will open for sales on 17 November.

The new services, announced as part of a wider schedule review by the carrier, will provide significant additional belly-hold capacity into Canada and will extend BA World Cargo's reach across the Americas region.

Dave Shepherd, vice president commercial of the Americas, BA World Cargo, commented: "Our investment in the new Calgary station highlights BA World Cargo's long term commitment to our customers in the Americas and our desire to grow the market."

Under its revised schedule, BA World Cargo has also announced that it will increase its services to a number of key destinations. From 1 December, the frequency of mainline services will be increased to and from New York to eight flights per day.

On 1 December, the carrier's Sao Paulo mainline frequencies will also be increased from seven to 10 flights each week and the Gatwick - Houston route changes to the winter schedule frequency of 12 per week. British Airways will also commence an additional mainline service between Heathrow and Bangalore, and will increase its Dubai frequencies to 17 per week for the winter
