Target Express adds a touch of Pink to its ‘Silver Service’

Target Express, based in Newton-le-Willows, added to the thousands of pounds it has raised in recent years for the Breast Cancer Care charity, with an ‘in the pink’ day held on Friday October 21. Members of staff from the express delivery company’s depots across the United Kingdom took part in the hugely successful fundraising event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raising over £1000 in just one day.

The Target depots were a sea of pink when hundreds of staff members dressed in the colour for the day, donating money to the cause. And it was some of the male members at the Newmarket depot that grabbed the most attention during the day; as customers donated money to see their Target contacts ‘dolled-up’ in fetching pink dresses, putting a smile on a few faces and raising extra cash for the worthy cause.

David Parkin, Marketing Manager at Target Express organised this year’s event, commented: “The ‘in the pink’ day at Target was a real success this year. The depots made a massive effort and organised a range of different events to raise money, which all added to the final total.”

“This is just one of the events that we run throughout the year to support of number of staff nominated charities. The next event in November will see our CEO, Petar Cvetkovic running the New York marathon raising money for the 21st Century Kids Charity.” He added
Breast Cancer Care is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment; and with the money raised from national events like the ‘in the pink’ day researchers can continue to invest in ways of understanding how the disease develops and possibly establish new cures or prevention measures.

Petar Cvetkovic, Chief Executive Officer at Target Express commented: “Breast Cancer Care is an extremely important charity and, for the second year running, the Target team has exceeded all expectations. Special thanks go to the organisers at each depot and everyone who contributed to another hugely successful day.”
