BALtrans Launches Unified Operational

BALtrans Holdings Limited (“BALtrans” or “the
Company”; HKEx: 562), a leading freight forwarding and logistics group in Asia
Pacific, announced that it has completed the integration of its two key entities in
China into a single unified logistics platform, The unified platform will formally
commence operation on 16 October 2006.

The new service platform will operate under the trade name of “BALtrans Logistics Company Ltd” to be headquartered in Shanghai, the major transportation hub of Eastern and Northern China. It will eliminate duplication of resources, provide focus for future IT investments as well as improve efficiency and risk management of the Company’s present logistics network which covers most of the major cities along the bustling coastal regions of China.

“BALtrans Logistics Company Ltd” will be led by Mr. Peter Chu, Managing Director of
the PRC region.

“The integration will take the Company another step closer to becoming a global
freight forwarding and logistics service provider with a strong platform in China, in particular, “BALtrans Logistics Company Limited” is one of the few MNCs with all
necessary licenses both for air and ocean in all major PRC cities.” said Mr. Henrik
von Sydow, Chief Executive of BALtrans.
“The newly strengthened platform will ensure we provide the level of service desired by our customers around the world and at the same time by eliminating duplicated functions yield economies of scale benefits, ” Mr. von Sydow continued.
