Final shortlists announced for UK Mail Awards 2006
With the release of the Mail Centre of the Year and Downstream Access Supplier shortlists, the full line-up of those hoping to be successful at these prestigious awards is now complete.
The Royal Mail Wholesale sponsored award for Downstream Access Supplier, identifying the contract holder achieving the best overall quality in the last six months at handover to Royal Mail, will go to one of the following shortlisted companies:
• DHL Global Mail UK
• Regional Mail Services
• Target Express
• TNT Post UK
• UK Mail
The Mail Centre of the Year prize, sponsored by UK Mail, recognises a Royal Mail centre that has made significant quality of service advances and can show a measurable impact on delivery performance. Using data audited by Postwatch to determine the most improved Mail Centres across the country, the top-performing centres were each invited to submit applications to the judges. These submissions have now been assessed by the judging panel, and whittled down to a shortlist of four:
• Oxford Mail Centre
• Glasgow Mail Centre
• Southend-On-Sea Mail Centre
• Tonbridge Mail Centre
These three Mail Centres will be looking to follow in the footsteps of last year\\\'s victor Shrewsbury, with the winner to be announced at the UK Mail Awards Gala Dinner next week in London. The other categories to be presented on the night, for which shortlists were announced two weeks ago, are:
Database Management – sponsored by Royal Mail
Digital Print – sponsored by Océ
Domestic Marketing Campaign – sponsored by DHL Global Mail
Innovation – sponsored by TNT Post
International Marketing Campaign – sponsored by Citipost
Technology – sponsored by ME-News
The independent panel of judges will meet at the end of October, just before the ceremony itself, to select the winning application in each category.
The 2006 UK Mail Awards presentation will take place on Tuesday 31 October at the industry\\\'s annual Gala Dinner in the Champagne Suite of the Novotel London West in Hammersmith. BBC Business presenter Declan Curry will present this year\\\'s Awards at what is expected to be the biggest celebration yet of the best of the mail industry.
