Kerry Logistics expands in Europe

Hong Kong based logistics provider Kerry Logistics Network has announced it is establishing a pan European presence with the opening of initial offices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Kerry Logistics GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, commenced operations in eight locations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland on September 1st. Michael Dieckmann, Managing Director responsible for Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, said that while Kerry Logistics has a very strong heritage in China and Asia it has also been rapidly establishing a global footprint with businesses in Great Britain, Spain and Australia.

Kerry Logistics hopes to benefit from trade between the European countries due to its extensive China/Asia operations.

According to Dieckmann, over the next two years further expansion will include other German language countries and Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. It is expected that 500 new jobs will be created to facilitate the extensive Central and Eastern European network by 2011.
