JAS Malaysia transports Agusta helicopters

JAS Malaysia is awarded the airfreight movement of two Agusta 109 helicopters

Nine months after its opening, JAS Malaysia gets awarded the airfreight movement of 2 helicopters Agusta A 109 LOH from Milan to Kuala Lumpur.

The Agusta A 109 LOH (Light Observation Helicopter), a version of the renowned A 109 LUH produced by AgustaWestland (Finmeccanica-GKN), will be used by the Malaysian Army Aviation for reconnaissance, transport and SAR (Search And Rescue) missions.

Despite summer holidays, JAS Milan successfully carried the 2 helicopters from Agusta Westland to Luxembourg airport via air ride trucks.

The aircrafts were loaded on board Cargolux flights occupying a total of 16 pallets positions with center-loading requirements. As Mr. Adrian Miles, JAS Malaysia Operation Manager explains: "To ensure smooth operation of this sensitive equipment, we were on site at KLIA cargo complex to supervise the unloading from CV at 0100hrs. We commit 150% to our client."

The helicopters were successfully delivered to Subang airport the next day via air ride trucks. Stephane Marot, JAS Malaysia Managing Director adds : " We battled hard to acquire this project.
