DFDS Transport sets up business in India

DFDS Transport Air & Sea Holding A/S (”DFDS Transport”) sets up business in India by establishing a ”joint venture” company by the name of DSV Air & Sea Pvt. Ltd. (”The company”). DFDS Transport has a shareholding of 72% and Seabridge Maritime Agencies Pvt. Ltd., a company under the Parekh Group, which DFDS Transport is already working with today, has a shareholding of 28 % in the company.

The company has established main office is in Mumbai and branch offices in Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore and the activities in India will comprise airfreight, sea freight and logistics.

This way DFDS Transport, who already has a large volume, which is today handled by agents, establishes own set up in one of the most substantial growth areas in Asia. The company is expected to employ 50 – 70 persons before the end of 2006.

The management expects a positive result for 2007 in India.

The DFDS Transport network in Asia now comprises 11 countries with own representation and approximately 1,000 employees.
