Sea-Cargo increases capacity on UK routes
Sea-Cargo is pleased to introduce increased capacity on UK routes. A number of customers have requested for additional and increased capacity to/from the UK following DFDS Seaways closure of its service between Bergen/Stavanger/Newcastle on 1st September 2008.
The market between WC Norway and the UK is a core business area for Sea-Cargo, and we are committed to offer a reliable and cost effective transport solution to the market – and as such meet market demands. We are therefore pleased to confirm that Sea-Cargo as from July 2008 will increase the capacity to/from the UK by way of allocating additional RORO capacity to existing routes. The increase is achieved by introducing mv Nordia to the trade – a RORO vessel with a 50% greater capacity compared to the vessel being replaced (mv Astrea). Mv Nordia is a larger and more powerful vessel, which also enable us to optimize transit times and review schedules and port calls - offering even greater flexibility in the future. More information here.
Mv Astrea will be shifted to the Amsterdam service – thereby increasing capacity for containers to/from Amsterdam and the Ceres Terminal.
