Stronger Transport Service Network for Itella Logistics in Norway

Itella Logistics has signed an agreement for taking over the business of Universal Spedisjon Bergen AS. After the approval of competition authorities in Norway and after the de-merger formalities are completed, Universal Spedisjon AS Bergen business will be transferred completely to Itella Logistics AS, which has been a 50% shareholder of the company for the last few years.

Universal Spedisjon Bergen has developed successfully logistics services within national and international transport, freight-forwarding, and contract logistics," comments Kjell-Arne Eloranta, Managing Director of Itella Logistics AS.

Itella Logistics´ operations in Norway started in 2006 when it acquired Universal Spedisjon AS in Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger and Trondheim. Itsservices include full range of air, sea and road transport, forwarding and contract logistics. The company employs a staff of 130, and posts net sales of approximately MEUR 62,5. Universal Spedisjon AS Bergen has 12 employees, whose positions will not be affected.
