OceanBlue Launch UK to Finland Express Service

OceanBlue Logistics Limited, the leading Scandinavian groupage and part load operator, has launched a new UK to Finland express service in conjunction with Helsinki (Espoo) based Scandinavian Shipping Oy.

The express service is aimed at urgent deliveries that cannot be satisfied by the usual weekend sailings from the UK. The new service offers a fast door-to-door transit time of just 4/5 depending upon the final destination. The routing is based on daily departures from the UK to Gothenburg which connects with a daily driver accompanied express service operated by Scandinavian Shipping Oy.

Director of OceanBlue, Daniel Morrison explains; "We found that there was a demand for cargo that was required in Finland urgently, we already operate a weekly service from the UK to Helsinki with departures on a Saturday but found that this was sometimes not quick enough and that some large shipments were being air freighted at great expense. What this new service offers is an alternative and more competitive option - both cost and time wise - than sending urgent shipments by air."

"The service is already being supported by both manufacturers and forwarding agents and has quickly taken off since it has been running. We are currently in negotiation with several large exporters who have expressed in interest in this type of service;" concludes Daniel.
